Gerald Langiri is an award-winning Kenyan actor and casting director working across film and television in East Africa. Active in the industry since 2011, he is known for his versatility on screen and his growing influence behind the scenes as a casting professional.
As an actor, Gerald has delivered acclaimed performances in films such as House of Lungula (as Harrison), which earned him a Kalasha Film & Television Award nomination for Best Lead Actor, and Fundimentals (as Joseph), which received an Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy Film/TV. His portrayal of Nicodemus in the television series Stay won him the Kalasha Award for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series.
His television work includes notable roles in Mali (Don), Papa Shirandula (Mr. Araka Smart), Santalal (Police Commissioner), Mashtaka, Maisha, Rosa, and State House. These performances have positioned him as one of Kenya's most recognisable and reliable screen actors.
Beyond acting, Gerald has played a key role in talent development and industry discourse. In 2013, he hosted the web-series talk show "In the Forest", which helped spark early momentum for Kenya's web-series movement. He is also the founder of actors.co.ke, a pioneering platform that documented and supported Kenya's acting industry and emerging talent, earning multiple nominations and awards including Best Niche Market Blog at the African Blogger Awards and Best Film Blogger at the Africa Film Development Awards.
Gerald has received professional acting and casting training from international and regional institutions, including mentorship from Hollywood coaches and training with One Fine Day Films. He is a member of the Kenya Actors Guild (KAG), the Performers Rights Society of Kenya (PRISK), and has served in leadership and advisory roles within Kenya's film and television ecosystem.
